You must take up residence prior to customs clearance in order to be eligible to import your household goods duty-free in Switzerland. For goods to be eligible for duty-free clearance, they must be owned and used for at least 6 months. There is a duty and tax on all alcohol over the maximum of 12 litres of hard liquor over 25% ABV and 200 litres of wine or champagne. All goods must arrive within 24 months of your arrival.
